‘I Had Suicidal Thoughts’ Says Monika Bhadoriya As She Recalls Working On TMKOC; ‘All This Torture Made Me Feel I Should Commit Suicide’
TV actress Monika Bhadoriya has been ruling the headlines ever since she talked about facing harassment and ill-treatment on the sets of the show ‘Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah’. She had earlier accused producer Asit Modi of misbehaving with her on the show and even claimed he threatened to ruin her career. Now, in a new interview with Pinkvilla, Monika made some shocking revelations as she opened up about how she felt suicidal while working on TMKOC.

She told the portal that during her stint on the show she went through a lot of family tragedies but instead of getting cooperation and support, the producers used to say words that hurt her. Monika revealed there was a time when all this torture and thoughts made her feel that she should commit suicide. Monika Bhadoriya was quoted as saying, “I went through a lot of family tragedies. I lost my mother and grandmother, both within a very short period of time. They both were pillars of my life, they raised me so well. I was not able to deal with their loss and I thought my life was over.”

She added, “During this time, I was working for Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah, which was also very torturing. So all this torture and thoughts made me feel that I should commit suicide. They (TMKOC makers) said, 'Her father died, and we gave the money. We gave the money to treat her ill mother.' These words had hurt me deeply.”

She went on to state that because of the producers’ behavior and nasty comments, she lost the will to work on the show and decided to quit it. She called the atmosphere on the sets of Taarak Mehta ‘male-chauvinist’.
